Atongo Zimba and Noella Wiyaala, two prominent musicians from Ghana, have secured positions on the worldwide compilation of the 500 Best Songs of All Time.
The World Music Listening Post issued the updated list on January 29. It includes Wiyaala and Atongo Zimba.
The list is the product of more than two years of investigation conducted by veteran journalist Alan Tigay and his group of music experts.
The list’s curators state that their goal is to envision what listeners and music critics in any particular nation or language community would deem the best songs, while also trying to evaluate each song and performer as accurately as possible within the framework of their cultural milieu.
No Beer In Heaven, a successful song by Atongo Zimba from 2004, came in at number 316 on the chart. Praised as a griot, he has traveled over the globe, notably South America and Europe, entertaining audiences with his customary tale and unique voice.
