Fast-rising Afro-Reggae group Bongofari will begin performing in Cote d’Ivoire on January 12 in support of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) football competition, which will take place in Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, Bouake, San Pedro, and Korhogo from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
He is attending at the request of Ivac Visions and Concepts, an events firm with headquarters in Abidjan that is planning a number of events called “Shaking Africa To The World” to take place in conjunction with the football festival.
The invitation to Bongofari from Ivac Visions and Concepts, which was signed by Jonathan Otu-Amponsah, Head of activities, stated that the singer from Ghana would be performing at four concerts during the AFCON and that their activities are intended to unite Africa via music.
“As a featured part of the ‘Shaking Africa To The World,’ shows, you will be acknowledged in the events brochure and during the various sessions. I strongly encourage you to join us for this fabulous event. It promises to be a memorable time for all involved,” the Ivac Visions and Concepts’ letter stated.

Bongofari expressed his gratitude for receiving an invitation to play at the AFCON, which is recognized as the largest athletic event to take place in Africa. He saw Cote d’Ivoire as a fantastic opportunity to entertain and market himself to customers from all around Africa and beyond.
“2023 was a fairly busy year for me. I appeared on many platforms and I’m grateful to Ivac Visions and Concepts for noticing my hard work and asking me over for their ‘Shaking Africa to the World’ shows,” Bongofari said.
Aspaatere Festival at James Town, Alogboshie Street Carnival, Reggae Bash at Laboma Beach, two shows at Goethe Institut, performances at the Ghana Reggae Dancehall Awards (GRDA), and other events in Accra were among the busy 2023 he mentioned.
He also made appearances at the opening ceremonies of the Afro Reggae Music Arts Heritage & Culture Festival (IARMA-FEST) in Lome, Togo, and the Abankese Music Festival in Cape Coast.
