The Police have reminded faith-based organizations to take note and refrain from indulging in the various traditional New Year’s Eve public prophecies.
The law prohibits the public dissemination of evil predictions, particularly those involving fatalities or injury that have the potential to destabilize law and order.
According to the police, the legislation has preserved the rights and liberties of individuals who are generally impacted by these prophesies, and it has also promoted a society free of unnecessary panic, fear, and concern, according to a statement dated December 27, 2023.
