Veteran Ghanaian actor Fred Nii Amugi, who most recently portrayed a pastor in “The Beast of No Nation,” has disclosed that he was once paid as little as GH₵20 for a film part.
The iconic actor stated that working without a large salary was simple for him since he was driven to work hard and establish himself in the field in an interview with JoyPrime’s Roselyn Felli on Wednesday, November 29.
He mentioned how, in the 1970s, he had accepted GH₵20 as payment for one of his efforts.
“The lowest amount I have received as an actor is GH₵20, paid to me by GBC radio theatre,” he said.
The actor claims that he started his profession with a lot of fire and youthful exuberance, and he was unconcerned with how little money he made.
