154 children and youths from the Central, Greater Accra, Ashanti, and Western regions have received a five-day training in coding and robotics organized by Festive Kids International Foundation.
The training was aimed at introducing and enhancing the participants to Artificial intelligence and its related programming.
Speaking to ATLFMNEWS at the climax of the program, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Festive Kids International Foundation, Dr. Prince Messiah Yeboah said the training is to equip the children with knowledge and skills in Artificial intelligence to improve their creative abilities.
According to him, introducing coding and robotics at their early stage is key to creating things that are economically beneficial and to make good use of the internet to their advantage.
“While people are using it to solve problems, others are also using it to destroy themselves, especially with the pornographies going on in other things. Ghanaian Children African Child must be able to create, must be able to innovate, and must be able to do something greater to make this continent what a beautiful one”, he continued.
Dr. Yeboah indicated that the acquisition of 21st-century skills is relevant to every child’s development.
To him, children must not be made to grow up and think their dependence is on the abundance of the county’s available resources.
He, therefore, called on parents to enrol their wards into the programs of Festive Kids International Foundation to be a beneficiary of the programs being instituted.
He explained that the foundation will continue to provide continuous learning for the youth while assiduously collaborating with the UCC ICT Centre.
“You need to visit our office at the stadium and register their kids and every Saturday they will be here. Starting from October 15 we are going to be here” he urged parents.
On his part, the CEO of Aaenics company the main partner of the Boot Camp, Mr Adu-Amponsah Kwaku Effa appealed to every Ghanaian Youth to take an interest in Technology, especially, Artificial Intelligence.
To him, artificial intelligence is the surest way to remain relevant in this 21st Century.
He shared his admiration for the passion festive kids have for children and their future as well as the impact the children had from training.
“Usually some of these concepts may take about a month for people to grasp, but within the past five days, some of these kids have shown exceptional quality. It is, and I think it is worth investing in them,” he said.
Participants of the five-day training which commenced Monday 18th to Friday 22nd September, 2023 ranged from the basic to the tertiary levels.
