In the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region, a galamsey pit has claimed the life of Azumah Razak, aged 26. He drowned in a pit.
However, the deceased’s family believes he was murdered.
Some of the deceased’s family described how the bones of their loved one appeared to have been used as human sacrifice in an interview with Adom News.
Therefore, the family is requesting that the alleged murderer be brought to justice.
The unfortunate incident has led to unrest in the community.

The chief and other authorities are responsible for the illegal mining operations in the neighborhood according to the youth.
The youth destroyed some property of the illegal miners and asked them to leave the community.
They issued a warning that if illegal miners disobey their advice, they will face their wrath.
Nana Afrifa Yamoah, the chief of Kwahu Oframase, has begged with the local youth to refrain from using violence and maintain calm. He promised that authorities will look into the matter to find out the truth.
