In July 2022, the University of Cape Coast awarded 93 retirees who served in diverse ways to raise the image of the University.
These well-serving retirees consisting of 23 senior members, 35 senior staff, and 35 junior staff were honored with citations and other packages for their hard work.
Speaking at the 2021 send-off and long service awards ceremony, the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor Rosemond Boohene expressed her admiration for the unwavering service of the retirees.
She noted that their tireless and unflinching contributions draw her gratitude and admiration for the development of the University of Cape Coast.
Therefore, she urged them to continue prioritizing their well-being as they retire from active service at the University.
“This I believe is a time to rest, explore other avenues, and make life exciting for yourselves and your families. As you exit, I admonish you to take good care of your health, and join clubs and associations to enable you to practice and stay healthy.” She said.
On her part, the Deputy Librarian, Mrs. Paulina Afful-Arthur who spoke on behalf of the retirees expressed much appreciation for all the help they received while serving in the University.
She further urged those still in active service in the University to serve with humility and be loyal as they discharge their duties.
