A Non-Governmental Organization based in the Central Region, Lady Gladys Campaign for the Blind has donated some food items and sanitary products worth over GHS18,000.00 to the Cape Coast School for the deaf and blind.
The donation forms part of the NGO’s endeavour to support the vulnerable in the society and this is the third donation since its inception in 2019.
Speaking to ATLFM NEWS on the side-lines, the founder of the NGO, Mrs. Gladys Awotwe remarked that the NGO was deeply concerned about the wellbeing of students at the school, hence the gesture.
She said, “we want to help our brothers and sisters who are blind so that was why we started this campaign in the first place.”
Assuring the school of her outfit’s continuous support and urged other charitable organizations to partner with the NGO to support the vulnerable in the society.
”We are appealing to everyone to support us in this campaign. As we have started, we are not ending. You can donate as little as 10ghs or 20ghs every month to the Lady Gladys Campaign for the Blind through 0595622687”, she stated.

The administrator for the NGO, Mr. Samuel Awotwe also expressed appreciation to the various donors who helped with the donation to help the school.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Headmaster of the Cape Coast School for the deaf and blind, Mr. Abraham Annan expressed appreciation for the gesture by the organization.
He appealed to the public to come to the aid of the school in various forms.
“We are looking forward that in the future all our children sitting for the BECE will be able to use the laptop, currently some of the assemblies are also doing well. We appeal to well-to-do members of society to come and help provide laptops for them. This will go a long way to help because they can hear and when they get the apps it can help in solving the problems that our visually impaired students are having,”he stated.
In a related development, the Lady Gladys Campaign for the Blind presented a citation to the Campus Broadcasting Services (CBS) for consistently assisting the NGO in all of its outreaches.
Speaking to ATLFM NEWS the founder for the NGO, Lady Gladys after the presentation expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the station.
“Since we started this campaign in 2019 ATL FM has greatly supported this campaign. Whenever we write to them they give out their platform to support us. They have been motivating us to help the vulnerable in the society. We came to present a citation for their support to this campaign. We thank them for always supporting Lady Gladys Campaign for the blind”, she stated.
Following the presentation, the management of the Campus Broadcasting Services expressed appreciation for the recognition and promised to support such worthy course continuously.
