A former General Secretary of the then Ghana Pentecostal Council (GPC), Apostle Ekow Badu Wood is urging potential fathers to acquire skills and profession before they consider becoming fathers.
He says fathers provide from their sweat, skill, their toil, and their profession through which they become fully functional as fathers.
He stressed saying a ‘functionless father is painful’ adding that children need their fathers and fathers need to recognize their potential influence on their children.
In a sermon themed: Celebrating Fathers; Endurers of Toils and Silent Tears”, at the University Interdenominational Church at the University of Cape Coast in connection with this year’s Father’s Day celebration, he said fathers have a huge impact on the growth and development of their children since their needs have to be met.
He also indicated that fathers are worth celebrating because they are foundations that sacrifice for the success of their respective families.
