The president of UTAG, UCC, Dr. Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi has assured the general public of lecturers’ readiness to receive final year students back to campus.
The assurance follows an announcement from the government to have all public universities reopen on June, 15 2020.
According to him, the university management in consultation with University Teacher Association of Ghana, UCC has put in place some modalities to ensure the smooth resumption of academic activities.

The President of UTAG, UCC being optimistic, said this will make both lecturers and students less anxious of the virus which would help ease the fear of contracting the virus.
“If things are well implemented, it will take away the anxiety and fear of both lecturers and students so that coming out to interact with students will not be a problem.”
In the bid to curb any spread of the virus, Dr. BoadI-Kusi also urged lecturers to adhere to all the Covid-19 safety protocols.
“We encourage our colleagues to corporate with all modalities put in place by the university management and where there are challenges; we (UTAG, UCC) will come in and point out those challenges and ensure that these challenges are overcome within the possible time, he assured.”
Earlier, President of UTAG – National, Prof. Charles Ofosu Marfo has called for a mass testing for both lecturers and students before the reopening of universities saying, it is the only way to avert any unforeseen eventuality.
