Managing Director of CalBank, Mr. Philip Owiredu has described the services rendered by the bank as excellent and has urged residents of Cape Coast to patronize their products and do business with them.
Speaking at the inauguration of the first ever branch of the bank in cape coast, he said Calbank prides itself as being an indigenous bank and fully support government, local content and development agenda.
Mr. Owiredu noted that the bank also advances financial inclusion especially in communities and to people that have limited access to finance.
“Our promise to Cape Coast is to support the micro, small, medium and large enterprises of the local economy, to support the businesses of women, support wealth creation for hardworking individuals in and around Cape Coast” he intimated.
He also indicated that plans are underway to expand the bank to other areas of the country.

The Central Regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan pledged her support to the bank and said that she believes the bank is poised to set the pace in the region’s financial industry.

She indicated that, despite fierce competition in the banking field, Calbank should set itself apart by treating customers properly, supporting SME firms, particularly women-owned businesses, and devising local strategies for people in Cape Coast, particularly for fishermen, to make their jobs easier.
She said, ”we are begging you when it comes to time to recruit, do not do all the recruitment from Accra and other parts of the country. We have men and women here who are also capable of working in this institution.”
The Omanhene of Oguaa Osabarima Kwesi Atta II expressed satisfaction at the bank’s decision to open its first-ever branch in the region.
He stated that Calbank has come to support and bring new ideas to the banking sector for the people of Cape Coast.
He also urged the bank to do as they have promised and proposed that, because the bank is in a new environment, it should support and adapt to the needs of the community so that locals will continue to frequent it.
He also promised the bank his unflinching support at all times should there be a need.
