The Ghana police service administration has announced the interdiction of the police officer suspected to be in a drunken state.
In a viral video, the uniformed police officer in a drunken state struggled to escape onlookers who hooted at him.
The public affairs directorate of the Ghana police service in a release signed by the director-general of public affairs, ACP Kwesi OFori, said the officer in question has been identified and interdicted to make way for an investigation into the matter.
Further on the interdiction of the officer, the Police administration says a clinical psychologist has been assigned to evaluate the mental health of the officer in question.
In addition, he will be referred to the Police Medical Board for thorough review and support towards rehabilitation if necessary.
The status of the officer in the Ghana police service will depend on the outcome of the recommendation by the Police Medical Board.
