Derrick Kwabena Bonney, popularly known as DKB, has replied to rumours about ‘blasting’ Sarkodie over supporting political parties.
In a recent video, DKB stated that he was only expressing how annoyed he feels when some celebrities criticize some government’s governance and refuse to do same to other governments. “…….I put out a tweet about how annoying our friend celebrities show party colours and refuse to talk when things are not going well but they come out and try to act sleek……….if you come out to support a political party and show political colours it is not wrong”, he explained.
DKB said that some people, especially some ‘desperate bloggers’ were so ‘quick’ to connect what he said to Sarkodie. He said that these bloggers thought that the comment he made was he, DKB, descending on Sarkodie. According to him, Sarkodie did not show any party colours in his song, Happy Day, therefore we cannot accuse him of being affiliated to any political party.
In a recent tweet that DKB made on 6th December,2021, he wrote; “Guys abeg Sarkodie didn’t show party colors for NPP, as far as last political season is concerned. He may have made suggestive comments. Please cut him some slack and spread the vawulence on the celebrities who were in party t-shirts etc, they were the real color showers……”
DKB claimed that most bloggers are only interested in turning people against each other rather than bringing real news, and that is why most of them are facing poverty and hardship. He also advised that celebrities who criticize governments should be neutral in their criticism, and it is when they do so that their words and suggestions will carry more weight and respect.
