Popular gospel musician, Patience Nyarko, has advised Ghanaian gospel singers to be careful with the persons who manage their YouTube channels so they do not get duped.
According to her, some of these artists are being cheated by their YouTube managers, and are given less than what the actually earn on YouTube. She advised that the gospel musicians demand for the code that is used to check the amount that they earn monthly on YouTube.
She said: “For every music that you’ve done and uploaded on your YouTube channels, there is an amount you are entitled to. Ask your social media manager for the code that is used to check the actual amount of money you earn on any social media platform of yours. Do not accept the amount that they mention to you, without verifying it yourself”.
She proceeded to lament about how Ghanaian gospel artists are ‘struggling’ to profit from their crafts and even claimed that some popular gospel artists end up bankrupt in their later lives and beg for financial assistance. She also said that some of them migrate to other countries to find greener pastures to avoid ending up bankrupt at old age.
