According to Blakk Rasta, Ghanaians’ living circumstances are so deplorable that he compares them to hell, and he adds that even Satan would not beg to live here. But politicians continue to enrich themselves at the expense of the people’s labor.
Blakk Rasta is well-known for his outspoken criticism of bad governance in African nations, which he expresses on his Radio Drive program. His unrelenting campaign against political leaders and government officials who take advantage of regular people while providing nothing in return has been ramped up to full force.
He said, “Politicians reap what they have not sown, while citizens are forced to work hard in the land. You (our politicians) are our leaders, but you behave as if the country belongs to you. You allow Ghanaians to do the hard work in the country, and you sit somewhere and think of how you are going to make yourselves richer. You treat Ghanaians like slaves. We are tired of this.”
This is not the first time the radio host and reggae singer has chastised the ruling party for failing to keep its promises. In 2019, he launched a campaign to put pressure on the President for napping at foreign meetings.
Blakk Rasta supported his point with a video of the President napping at the World Summit in Russia during one of his Metro TV appearances. He said that the President is well beyond retirement age and requires relaxation commensurate with his age.
“He flies in a charted flight all the way to Russia. See how many miles we have between Ghana and Russian, and you couldn’t sleep well in your business class chartered flight. Now taxpayers are paying for this, you arrive in Russia, and you are caught dozing. You will wake up and sign contracts you’ve not heard because you were sleeping.”
