The Dean of the School of Business at the University of Cape Coast, Prof. John Gartchie Gatsi says the country’s economic growth as presented in the mid-year budget review by the finance minister is remarkable.
He noted that the government’s transformational agenda is on course considering how the Covid-19 pandemic affected the country’s economy in the year 2020.
Sharing his views on the Atlantic Wave, Prof. Gartchie explained that economic growth should however reflect on the physical growth and standard of living of the citizens.
“Vulnerability has increased so if you want to talk about a good economy you should know the indicators as enshrined in article 36 and as captured in public financial management act and other policy documents. The outcome of a good economy should be a maximum happiness of the people”, he said
He further urged government to align its revenue mobilization to expenditures to ensure robust economic stability.
