A video of a traffic policeman in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, being robbed of his phone by three men on a motorcycle has been shared widely online.
The footage, recorded by a dashcam, shows the officer talking on his mobile before the men ride past and one snatches the device.
The men disappear into the traffic leaving the policeman to look on helplessly.
It’s not clear where exactly the footage was taken but the video’s date stamp shows it was taken on Monday.
The snatching of mobile phones, handbags, and even jewelry by thieves on motorbikes has been rampant in the city.
Authorities have been warning people to be vigilant while walking through the streets of the capital.
Crimes such as mugging and kidnappings are also on the rise with police this week announcing the formation of an elite police squad to tackle the cases.
