The Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum says the time has come for Ghana to have a definite blueprint that can guard educational development devoid of partisan politics.
According to the minister, developing an educational system that has the potency to equip students with the needed skills to advance the development of the country must travel beyond political gain making.
He said though Ghana currently possesses one of the best strategic policy on education, political gimmicks and gain point has stifle most of the implementations of these policies a situation he has pledged to change.
“I know that some of us politicians are our worst enemies because when NPP does something great, NDC will make sure it is torn apart and vice versa. Consequently we defuse the confidence of the Ghanaian in our system. You do everything and everyone is second guessing as to whether it is a political gimmick or it is truly something that can change the fortunes of the country” he added.
Though there are challenges, Dr Osei Adutwum said under his leadership as the sector minister, he will put in the needed effort to propel the educational frontiers of the country to the world.
He noted “the stem base schools are going to change the way we do education. we are doing it differently because we know things should be done differently”.
Dr Osei Adutwum was speaking at the official launch of the Institute of Educational Planning and Administration into a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence at the University of Cape Coast.
