Mary Rose Boyuboie, well-known health personnel in Ghana has mentioned on e.TV show that condom is a contraceptive that sadly most people do not know about.
She made this revelation on e.TV Ghana’s “Girls Vibes Show” in a discussion with Mercy Bee, the Ekumfi Princess that it is unfortunate most people do not know condom is a contraceptive and the most common. She describes condom as a barrier method of preventing pregnancy.

The health care personnel stated that there are many types of contraceptives but most people know about pills, injectables and condoms. She said, “some don’t consider these as contraceptives, whereas it is. This is because it is used to prevent pregnancy as well”.
She further explained that the injectable type is divided into two; the long term, used for 3 months and the short-term contraceptive which lasts a month.
Moving on, she added that another type of contraceptive which is not very common is the spermicide. “it is a form of cream used to kill sperms to avoid pregnancy. The lady applies this on her abdomen to help kill the sperm from growing”. She said.
Mary went ahead to mention that the pull-out method is a natural method of preventing pregnancy which most people like to practice.
The health practitioner finally stated that there are many ways to prevent pregnancy but she advised it is important for every female to know their body and what best works for them. This, she said will help them know which contraceptive method best suit them.
