Mr. Harry Kofi Mensah, a retired GNAT officer and educationist, has urged teachers to participate in GNAT events in order to reap the greatest benefits.
He said that although there are several teacher organizations, none equate to the GNAT, so “hang with GNAT, walk with GNAT, and retire with GNAT.”
Mr. Mensah went on to say that the GNAT was mighty and revolutionary not only in Ghana but in Africa.
The Educationist was speaking at the Ahanta West Municipality’s sixth Quadrennial and 53rd District Delegates’ Conference in Apowa.

Mr. Mensah mentioned several interventions, including lending services, access to attorneys, teachers’ rights, and pension benefits, to name a few.
Mr. Richard Hoenyefia Boni, GNAT’s Ahanta West Municipality Chairman, thanked all stakeholders for their support in the battle for teachers’ privileges and benefits over the years.
He, on the other hand, bemoaned difficulties with SSNIT’s Tier one and two pensions, urging participants to take advantage of GNAT’s Tier three Provident Fund.
Mr. Boni also urged the GES to settle all arrears as soon as possible to avert any industrial action.
