Consumers of Dairy Products and Drinks have been alerted about the danger of developing Lethal Tuberculosis as a consequence of eating contaminated items.
People who work with livestock, according to Dr Gloria Ivy Mensah, Research Fellow, Department of Bacteriology, Nuguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research, could contract Bovine Tuberculosis if they are not covered.
Dr. Mensah said that herders and butchers were at risk of contracting bovine tuberculosis, which is known as zoonotic tuberculosis when it is transmitted to humans.
Zoonotic tuberculosis is a type of tuberculosis induced by Mycobacterium bovis, a part of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex. In terms of human zoonotic exposure, cattle are the most significant livestock reservoir for M. bovis, but the disease may impact a large variety of animals and become identified in wildlife reservoirs.
Patients of zoonotic tuberculosis face unique difficulties in terms of prevention and rehabilitation. Frequently, the specialized laboratory instruments required to diagnose M. bovis are inaccessible. M. bovis is normally immune to pyrazinamide, which is an effective first-line therapy for tuberculosis.
Dr. Mensah clarified that the most popular method for the general population to catch the disease was by the ingestion of infected goods, and advised citizens not to consume Bukina produced with raw milk.

Meat customers should be sure of the origins of the meat they buy and make sure it’s well prepared before consuming, according to the Study Fellow.
She urged people to pay attention to their wellbeing concerns by eliminating dairy products from undisclosed sources.
