Drivers and commuters in Wassa Mamieso have praised the authorities for constructing a temporary access road to help with traffic flow.
The alternate route was built in the place of the broken bridge that killed one person in Mamieso, Wassa Amenfi East Municipality (WAEMA), Western Region.
The bridge collapsed after a Mammut Tipper Truck carrying boulders for the building of a cocoa road project in the area killed one boy.

Meanwhile, as the over 35-year-old bridge collapsed, a motor rider who was behind the tipper truck with two passengers became trapped under it.
George Appiah, 42, and Emmanuel Dovi, 32, who suffered varying degrees of injury as a result of the crash, are now undergoing care at the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital.
Residents thanked the government for contracting the road and pleaded with the contractor to finish the job on schedule.
The collapsed bridge, according to Madam Helena Appiah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Wassa Amenfi East Municipality (WAEMA), was part of the Municipality’s ongoing road development.
She urged motorists to be extra cautious on the road, especially during the rainy season.
Wassa Akropong is linked to Wassa Afransie, Jukwaa, and Abrokyire Krobo, among other communities in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipality, by the Mamie river bridge at Mamieso.
