The Kokrokoo Charities Foundation has put in place a mechanism to raise funds to purchase 65 more incubators to help with pre-term baby care across the country.
The Kokrokoo Charities Foundation, in association with Toyota Ghana Limited, has launched a campaign in which the grand prize winner will receive a brand new Toyota Starlet vehicle, as well as other prizes such as generator packs, standing fans, blenders, pressing irons, and cookware.
Mr Kwami Sefa Kayi, a broadcaster and creator of Kokrokoo Charities Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization, said the foundation had already supplied 35 incubators to hospitals across the country through its “Project 100” programme, which was conducted at the Accra Shopping Mall and saw ten winners who joined the raffle through 71370#.
He said the project, birthed in 2014 to help reduce infant mortality in Ghana through the purchase and installation of 100 incubators at a cost of $10,000 each, was left with 65 more Incubators to meet its target.
He said that the project had purchased and built incubators in 22 provincial and district hospitals across the country, as well as providing funding for other neo-natal needs in a few hospitals.
He also listed Bongo District Hospital and Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, and Ho Regional Hospital as hospitals that had benefited from the incubators.
The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the Agomenya Catholic Hospital, the Tema General Hospital, and the Sunyani Regional Hospital are among the others.

He mentioned that the contest was still available, and that entrants could dial 71370# and obey a three-step prompt to contribute to the project.
“While making several contributions raises one’s odds of winning, one is simply helping to raise money for the procurement of incubators to save infants’ lives,” he said.
In future drawings, he added, the final winner of the car will be chosen at random and rewarded with the Toyota Starlet.
Mr Dennis Adumtwum, Programmes Manager, Kokrokoo Charities Foundation, stated that the first ten winners were chosen at random from the first 2,000 entrants, and that three more draws will be conducted before the year’s end.
He stressed that both of the draws followed the COVID-19 protection guidelines, and that the next ones will be conducted on July 1, August 4, and September 21, 2021, respectively.
Mr Jerry Mensah, Toyota Ghana’s National Sales and Marketing Manager, said the initiative gave participants the chance to save an infant’s life, while his organization also aimed to help worthwhile causes including the Kokrokoo Charities Foundation’s.
Mr Daniel Arthur, a participant who won a cookware kit, said his goal was to win the vehicle, but that he was “glad to have participated to support a good cause.”
“I’ll keep donating, and I’m certain I’ll win the car.” Other winners received products such as pressing irons, standing fans, and blenders.”
