The Parliament of Ghana has revealed that the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, 2021 is currently at the committee level.
According to a statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of Parliament, this Bill as well as the Office of the Special Prosecutor (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and the Criminal Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2021 are with the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee who is examining all questions relating to the Bills.
However, a total of 56 Bills are envisaged to be presented before Parliament during the Third Meeting of the First Session of the 8th Parliament which begins today at 10 am at the Parliament House in Accra.
These Bills include the Affirmative Action Bill, the Intestate Succession Bill, the Aged Persons Bill, and the Small-Scale Mining Bill which are all for 2021.
The statement also revealed that the Standing Orders of Parliament Ghana, 2021, the Revenue Administration, 2021, the Copyright Regulations, 2021, and the National Information Technology Agency Regulations, 2021 are some of the instruments for presentation and at Committee.
The meeting is likely to last nine weeks after which the House will go on recess in December.
