Bimbola Akintola also reiterated that although marriage is difficult, one must not get married for marriage sake.
“I don’t believe that you get married for marriage’s sake. If you are not going to be truthful to your vows, then why are you doing it? The person wey me fit do forever for don die”.
Emphasizing on her main reason for staying single even at 54, she added that her husband died and it’s difficult finding another man she can settle with.
He’s gone. I am not saying that you can’t have two or three loves in your lifetime but do you know how long it took me to find that one that I knew I could stay with. The person wey me fit do forever for don die. He’s gone. I am not saying that you can’t have two or three loves in your lifetime but do you know how long it took me to find that one that I knew I could stay with.”
Indicating her decision not to spend time to study men because of some red flags that could come, the experienced actress added that she is too old to understand red flags.
“I am also too old to understand red flags when I see it and I think I am too old to manage and say I am doing something just to make other people happy. Who are those people? To make the world happy, I should marry someone so that the world can say you don do am” she explained.
The actress affirmed her belief in marriage, but shared a poignant twist: “I had found the one I wanted to spend my life with, but sadly, he’s no longer with us.”
Reflecting on past relationships, Bimbo Akintola admitted, “I’ve dated, but never envisioned a lifelong commitment with those partners.” However, she remains open to the possibility of remarrying if she finds someone special.
“I’m willing to take that step again, regardless of my age, if I find someone with whom I can share a forever connection,” she stated, leaving the door open for love’s second chance.
