President Akufo-Addo asserts that approximately 49,000 beneficiaries of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) have been integrated into the country’s public sector or have become entrepreneurs after acquiring the necessary expertise.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Ash FM as part of his visit to the Ashanti Region, he said that the initiative would help more young graduates.
“49,000 have so far transitioned either to permanent employment or working for themselves. That’s nearly 50% of the beneficiaries.”
“We are looking at recruiting many more into the program in the coming days.”
NABCo
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo started the NABCo project in 2018 with the goal of hiring 100,000 unemployed graduates.
The program has seven components that are intended to address the nation’s urgent requirements while also creating employment for the teeming youth who have earned higher education but are unable to find work.
The recipients were employed for three years and received a monthly stipend of GH700 each.
Feed Ghana, Educate Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Heal Ghana, Enterprise Ghana, Digitize Ghana, and Governance Ghana are the modules.
