An Accra Circuit Court sentenced a 31-year-old teacher to 12 years in jail for defiling a 15-year-old student.
Fedelix Kogbe entered a not guilty plea in response to the defilement charge.
However, at the conclusion of the trial, Mrs. Christina Cann’s court found Kogbe guilty and punished him accordingly.
It was stated on December 7, 2019, that Kogbe defiled the victim at Dome in Accra.
The complainant is the victim’s father, according to the prosecution’s case. They lived in Dome.
Kogbe was the victim’s former teacher, the prosecution told the court.
On December 7, 2019, about 0800 hours, the complainant departed to town, leaving the victim at home.

According to the prosecution, the victim invited Kogbe to her home in order for him to install software on her laptop. When Kogbe arrived, the victim was alone at home, and they sat on the victim’s bed.
It was claimed that after Kogbe completed putting the program and certain music on the victim’s laptop, he kissed her and had sexual intercourse with her.
According to the prosecution, when the complainant got home about 1100 hours, he heard a male voice in the victim’s chamber.
When the complainant knocked and opened the door, he noticed the victim dressed differently than she was when he left the residence, which made him suspicious.
The prosecution stated that when the complainant entered the bedroom, he noticed bits of tissue paper on the floor and picked them up to sniff, adding that “it smelled like sperms.”
According to the complaint, the complainant investigated the bedroom and discovered Kogbe naked in the victim’s wardrobe.
According to the prosecution, the complainant shut Kogbe and the victim in the house and called the police.
According to the prosecution, Kogbe was detained and stated in his caution statement to the police that he removed his shirt because the victim’s bedroom was warm and that he simply kissed her. According to the prosecution, investigations indicated that Kogbe had sexual relations with the victim, who was 15 years old at the time of the occurrence.
