The University of Cape Coast (UCC) excelled at the 2024 inter-university cross-country event, hosted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
This prestigious competition saw participation from several notable institutions, including KNUST, the University of Education, Winneba, the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development, the University of Ghana, the University for Development Studies, the University of Energy and Natural Resources, the University of Health and Allied Sciences, the University of Mines and Technology, the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, Ghana Communication Technology University, and the C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences. The event highlighted the athletic prowess and competitive spirit of students from across these diverse universities, with UCC emerging as a standout performer.

In the women’s division, Mariamma Aidoo, a Level 200 student from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), secured the gold medal, propelling UCC to first place with 42 points. They triumphed over notable competitors, including the host, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the University of Ghana, the University of Energy and Natural Resources, and the University of Education, among others. In the men’s division, UCC achieved a commendable second-place finish after Atayla Awini Samuel finished 4th in the race.
