Nigeria booked a place into the semi finals after thrashing Senegal by four goals to nil in the 13th African Games U20 women’s football competition at the Cape Coast sports stadium.
Loveth Njideka Edeh’s precise header put the Nigerians infront in the 14th minute after Victoria Ezekiel broke down the left flank to swing in a decent cross.
The Falconets kept dictating the pace of the game in search of more goals but Khady Faye in post for Senegal denied them on two occasions in the 33rd and 43rd minutes respectfully to end the first half with the lone goal.

Nigeria resumed the 2nd half with more hunger to add to the tally and was rewarded in the 49th minute when Ezekiel headed home Nigeria’s 2nd goal for the night.
Nigeria kept the pressure on the defence line causing Senegal’s Bineta Seck to head home an own goal to make it 3 for Nigeria in the 50th minute.
Nigeria’s midfield marshal Chioma Olise, who had been a thorn in the flesh of Senegal’s team got her reward in the 82nd minute to register her name on the score sheet to take the Falconets tally to 4, making it a comfortable passage into the semi finals after they beat Morocco by two goals to nil in their opening fixture.
