From today, Monday, November 15, 2021, through to Friday, November 19, 2021, a total of 571, 894 candidates will sit for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) in 2,158 centers nationwide.
In 2020 and 2019, respectively, 531,707 and 517,332 candidates sat for the examination.
Mrs. Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Education Service, encouraged BECE candidates to abstain from all types of examination misconduct throughout the period.
“Candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities, teachers, and parents are advised to desist from any form of examination malpractice.”
“GES, WAEC, and the security services are working jointly to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations at all the centres across the country,” she added.
Additionally, the statement tasked supervisors and invigilators with ensuring full compliance with COVOD-19 protocols.
Additionally, the statement complimented teachers, school heads, parents, and other stakeholders for their role in preparing candidates for the examination.”
It said that specifics about the Senior High School selection process will be conveyed in due time and wished all applicants success and good luck.
